Shoulder Pain and Auto Injury

If you are dealing with shoulder pain after a car crash, you're not alone. Blake Chiropractic & Rehabilitation sees this type of problem often in our Harrisburg office. Chiropractic is an effective way to treat shoulder pain. Let's look at how shoulder pain is caused by a crash and how Blake Chiropractic & Rehabilitation can help you.

There are at least two different ways that you can develop shoulder pain after an accident: by direct trauma to the shoulder joint or by radiating pain from the neck.

Direct trauma can be caused by striking your shoulder on a hard surface in the car during the impact, or can occur if you have a tight grip on the steering wheel during a rear end impact. With this type of injury, you'll usually be aware of the pain soon after the wreck.

More commonly, Blake Chiropractic & Rehabilitation finds that shoulder or arm pain does not immediately appear after a collision, but starts a few days or weeks after the injury. This type of shoulder pain actually starts in the neck. Injured soft tissue in your neck can squeeze nerves in your neck, causing tingling, numbness, or pain in your shoulder, elbow, or wrist.

We've treated many types of shoulder pain in our Harrisburg office. This care involves chiropractic adjustments to restore your spine's natural flexibility and exercises that strengthen your neck and shoulder.

Blake Chiropractic & Rehabilitation has been helping patients in Harrisburg since 1983, so we know what you're going through. We're here to help you, too. First, we'll do a careful assessment to establish the root cause of your problem, and then decide how to restore your body's natural functioning. Ready to make an appointment?
